Ladies are Commanded To Love (Phileo - Be Affectionate) Toward Husbands; Whereas Husbands Are Commanded to Love (agape - love based on moral principle). ...

There is a very interesting and deliberate truth in the Bible that is often overlooked. When God tells men to “LOVE” their wives, the Greek word is agape; but women are commanded to “LOVE” philandros their husbands. These are two very different word meanings.

Titus 2:4, “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.” The word “love” here in Titus 2:4 is philandros and means “fond of man, that is, affectionate as a wife.” This is romantic love, physical affection, loving a man as a wife should.

However, Ephesians 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” The word “love” here in Ephesians 5:25 is agapaō and means “to love (in a social or moral sense).” This is God's unconditional love, that is, a man loving his wife because of who he is, and not for who she is. This is not romantic love; but rather, love based upon the unchanging principles of God's Word.

The reason why God commands men and women to love in different ways is because a man by nature has physical affection toward a woman, but women do not toward men. That is, men are aroused by sight, but not women. A woman has to make herself be affectionate toward her husband even when she doesn't feel it. The feelings follow afterward.

Likewise, women naturally have agape love for their husbands. So a man has to force himself to love his own wife as God commands him to, loving her based upon the principles of God's Word and God's love.

A wise wife will be affectionate toward her husband. One of the major causes of divorce is romance problems, because the wife isn't interested in physical relations, won't work at it and doesn't care. A husband needs an affectionate wife!

A “Voice” John the Baptist

The Birth Date of Jesus

If Jesus was born in 5 BC (The Bible Almanac, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1980) and if He died about at 33 years of age, that would fix his death around 29 AD. The first Roman calendar was off four (4) years. Today's calendar is a product of the Julian & Gregorian calendars. There was a 1 BC and a 1 AD but there was no "0" between BC and AD. Counting 33 years forward from His birth in 5 BC would fix his death in 29 AD. Herod the Great, who ordered the murder of all the babies less that two years old in Bethlehem, died in 4 BC. Therefore Jesus had to be born prior to his death and therefore Jesus probably was born in 5 BC or earlier.

The BOOK That Makes The Difference!

“Faith and repentance are the same; they are not two separate decisions. One cannot trust Christ as Savior without repenting or changing his mind. The very fact that he trusts Christ for salvation shows that he has changed his mind regarding sin, salvation, and God.” —Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995)

Bible Doctrine Basics

Doctrine is a systematic orderly arrangement of truth. Here is a helpful list of eight key doctrines of the New Testament Church:

  1. BIBLIOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalms 119:160; Revelation 22:19; Romans 15:4)
  2. THEOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning God (Ephesians 4:6; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 18:19; Philippians 2:5-6).
  3. ANTHROPOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning the fall of man (Genesis 3:4-6; Genesis 8:21; Psalms 14:1-7; Romans 5:12).
  4. CHRISTOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning the virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Galatians 4:4).
  5. SOTERIOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning atonement for sin (Ephesians 2:8; John 3:16; Hebrews 9:12-15; 1 John 2:2).
  6. ECCLESIOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning the church (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:11).
  7. ANGELOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning angels, demons and Satan (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:14-17; Revelation 12:9).
  8. ESCHATOLOGY - Our beliefs concerning the end times (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 24:29-32; Revelation 20:11-15).

Many Scripture passages have multiple meanings:

Be careful never to conclude that a particular passage can only have one meaning. For example:

Matthew 5:27-29, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”

The Lord doesn't want the reader to maim them self (the literal meaning), but the Bible is in fact teaching (the spiritual meaning) that we would be better off maimed in this temporary earthly life, than to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Although a person doesn't have to forsake their sinful ways to be born-again (because eternal life is a free gift from God), the love of sinful ways is a major reason why people won't come to the Lord for salvation. We see the prophetic meaning of this passage in the reality of Hell, where all Christ-rejecters will spend eternity. END

The World In 2012 (a red-hot sermon by Pastor Danny Castle)

Beware Of False Prophets

The Holy Bible warns us in 1st John 4:1, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” My stern advice to you dear friend is that before you trust any preacher's teachings (his theology), you begin by checking to see what he teaches concerning getting to Heaven. What plan of salvation does he teach?

For example: Dr. John MacArthur says some brilliant things from the pulpit, he is a kind man, and is a superb orator; but dear reader, this ungodly man is NOT SAVED! John MacArthur requires a person to DO SEVEN THINGS to get saved! That is not “THE GOSPEL of free grace! Mr. Macarthur is a theological LIAR!!!

Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) use to wisely say that repentance is like a man buttoning a dress shirt, if you get the first button wrong all the buttons will be wrong too! So we cannot trust John MacArthur's Calvinist theology. If you are a baby believer, new to the Word of God, I plead with you to be very careful to whom you submit your mind. As 1st John 4:1 says, MANY FALSE PROPHETS ARE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD!!!

I NEVER KNEW YOU (false gospels of Osteen, Stanley, Robertson, Warren, Hagee, Dobson, Swaggart)

“To obtain the correct teaching of a particular Scripture, as any Bible student knows, you must compare all other Scriptures that pertain to the same subject or verse in question. When all Scriptures pertaining to the same subject AGREE, you then have the correct teaching of the subject or verse. If not, then you have a wrong interpretation or application of the verse or subject in question. This would then lead to a false teaching perpetuated upon the unsuspecting congregation.”

Stick To The Basics

God deliver us from deeper-life theologians who can quote the Bible, dissect it and expound upon it, but they never share the gospel with their neighbors and let the world die and go to Hell. On my website ministry, I aim to encourage everyone to be a soul-winner. Proverbs 11:30 says, “He that winneth souls is wise.” That's one Scripture that you won't hear often from the intelligencia crowd.

Granted, it is “God that giveth the increase” (1st Corinthians 3:7). Our part is to preach the gospel, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ Who died, was buried and rose again three days later for our sins.

Thus, it is critically important that we never stop ringing the bell of the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith, including the virgin birth of Christ and His bodily, literal, resurrection from the dead. In an age when psychology is replacing Bible-preaching in our churches, and entertainment is replacing the power of God, the Doctrine of Christ cannot be stressed enough...

7,487 Promises From God To Man In The Bible!

The following quote is taken from the Introduction to Dr. Herbert Lockyer's (1886-1984) timeless Christian classic, All The Promises Of The Bible...

“It has been computed that there are 30,000 Bible promises. No indication is given as to how this colossal number is reached. Altogether, there are 31,173 verses making up the Bible; 23,214 verses compromising the Old Testament, and 7,959 — the New Testament. Doubtless this total of verses gave rise to the 30,000 — every verse being a promise.

The magazine Time, of Dec. 4, 1956, carried an item to the effect that schoolteacher Everet R. Storms, of Kitchener, Canada, reckoned the 30,000 figure to be off the mark. During his 27th reading of the Bible, this devout student tried to tally up the promises, a task which took him a year and a half. Storms came up with 7,487 promises by God to man, 2 by God the Father to God the Son, 991 by one man to another (such as the servants who promised to interpret king Nebuchadnezzar's dream), 290 by man to God, 21 promises were made by angels, one by man to an angel, and two were made by an evil spirit to the Lord. Satan made nine, as when he promised the world to Christ if He would fall down and worship him. Storms then gives us the grant total of 8,810 promises.

Scattered throughout the Bible are hundreds of definite explicit promises forming the category Peter names as "the exceeding great and precious promises" (II Peter 1:4).”

Salvation is a Gift, Not a Reward

*Did you know that you don't have to “ask” Jesus to forgive your sins? That is absolutely correct! Jesus has already paid for everyone's sins with His own precious blood. Forgiveness of sins and eternal life are FREE GIFTS from God (Romans 5:15; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9), paid for in full by the precious blood of THE LAMB (John 1:29; Revelation 1:5; 1st Peter 1:18-19). The Holy King James Bible simply tells us to BELIEVE the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Jesus is precious!!!

In the absence of Light, darkness prevails!

“But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour.” (Titus 1:3)

“The whole conviction of my life now rests upon the belief that loneliness, far from being a rare and curious phenomena, is the central and inevitable fact of human existence.” —Thomas Wolfe; God's Lonely Man.

They called Him Beelzebub, the prince of devils, and we can afford to be called fools for Christ's sake for a little while, and by and by we will be called home.” —Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899)
