Ex Cathedra Lies

By David J. Stewart | January 2007

"Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and
maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD." —Jeremiah 17:5

This is unbelievable... Catholics actually believe and teach that when the Pope speaks from his chair, his words are EQUAL with God's Word. Blasphemy!!!

Ex Cathedra (Latin: from the chair), the Chair of Peter. When a Pope speaks from the chair (cathedra) of authority as the visible head of all Christians, his teaching is infallibly Christ’s true teaching.

Nothing could be further from the truth. When the Pope speaks from his chair, he speaks only as a sinful man, deserving of Hell. When the Pope speaks, it is no different than when anyone else speaks. What makes the Pope so special? Not one of the Apostles ever made up their own doctrines (as the Catholic Church has done throughout history). Here is a chronological list of Roman Catholic heresies (all manmade traditions).

Anyone who understands the simplest of Bible basics knows that the last Book of the Bible is Revelation, written about 96 AD. There are no "new" doctrines; yet the Vatican continues to fabricate juicy lies and false doctrines. It was in 1950 that Pope Pius XII decided to make The Assumption of Mary an official dogma of the Catholic Church, i.e., that Mary was assumed body and soul into Heaven. Catholics readily admit that this doctrine is not taught in the Word of God.

If you are a Catholic, ask yourself whether your unquestioning trust in the Roman magisterium is warranted. The magisterium claims to explain the Word of God, but in many cases, it has gone far beyond it's stated role. It is inventing novel doctrines beyond the Word of God. Be careful! You may feel convinced that your faith is built upon a solid rock, when in fact, you are standing on sinking sand (Matthew 7:24-27). If you are trusting in the Catholic Church to save you, then you are indeed sinking in quicksand. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24 that the WISE man, who builds his house upon a rock, is the one who OBEYS God's Word... "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.

What sayings was Jesus referring to?  Look back at Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The wise man is the person who DOES THE WILL OF THE FATHER IN HEAVEN. So let's look to the Scriptures for what the will of God the Father is concerning salvation. Jesus proclaimed in John 6:40, "AND THIS IS THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." There you have it! The will of the Father in Heaven is for us to believe on Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus exclaimed in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In John 8:24 Jesus WARNED... "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." To be born again, we must come to Jesus as a sinner, and trust upon Him as our Savior to forgive and save us.

Works Salvation is of the Devil

Tragically, the Catholic Church mandates all sorts of WORKS to be saved. This false doctrine is commonly referred to as "works salvation." Romans 10:3-4 plainly states, "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." This is what the Catholic Church is doing, going about to establish THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jesus adamantly condemned following manmade traditions in Mark 7:7, "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." How much plainer could the Scriptures be? We are told in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Yet, when asked if they know for sure they are going to Heaven, the average Catholic will BOAST of their own goodness and faithfulness to the Catholic Church. Most of the Catholics I witness to have been horribly brainwashed by the Catholic Church, and have been taught many misconceptions concerning the Scriptures. The biggest misconception is that the Apostle James required works for salvation. The truth is that James was speaking about the FRUIT of our faith, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17); WHEREAS the Apostle Paul in Romans was speaking about the ROOT of our faith, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" (Romans 4:5). Please read Are We Justified by Faith and Works?

In God's eyes, we are justified by faith (Romans 5:1); but in men's eyes we can only be justified by works, because men cannot see our heart (1st Samuel 16:7).

Salvation Is NOT Found In The Catholic Church

Oh listen friend, Catholicism is a prisonhouse of religion! You don't need the Pope, or the priests, or the sacraments, or the confessional booth, or the Church. All you need is God's Word! The Vatican has taught it's followers that salvation comes through the Church; but the Word of God says no such thing. 1st Peter 1:23 plainly states that salvation comes by the WORD OF GOD, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the Word of God) that is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). If you will obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by trusting upon the Savior to forgive your sins, then you will be saved (Romans 10:13). Hell awaits all Christ-rejecters (2nd Thessalonians 1:8). No Pope, priest, or minister can forgive your sins. Please read, Who Can Forgive Sins?

Only Jesus has the nail-sacred hands and feet.  "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1,14; Revelation 19:13). Jesus clearly stated in Luke 17:21, "...the kingdom of God is within you." Phooey on formalism, ceremonialism, and organized religion. Christ lives in the heart of every born again child of God, not in some church building made with hands. Don't let the Catholic Church fool you, they clearly teach that there is no salvation apart from the Catholic Church. Someone once asked me, "There are so many religions, which one is the right one?" The answer is quite simple... NONE OF THEM! Salvation is not found in any religion; but rather, in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

I beg you to follow the Lord Jesus Christ only, and depart from the evil Catholic religion. I feel sorry for anyone who is gullible enough to believe that the Pope can speak EX CATHEDRA. Who are you going to trust, the Pope or the Word of God? I am not asking you to believe me, I am asking you to believe the Word of God.

END

"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." —Psalm 118:8

Catholicism is a lie of the Devil. If I didn't sincerely care about people, then I wouldn't take the time to WARN you. The Catholic religion is all a bunch of Satanic lies based upon traditions and ridiculous manipulations of the Word of God. I plead with you as a friend, obey the Bible by turning to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and forsaking the Mother of Harlots. The Great Whore of the Catholic Church will take you to hell with them if you're foolish enough to follow them. Don't do it. Salvation is NOT found in a religion, but in a Person... the Lord Jesus Christ! You need Christianity friend, NOT churchianity.

"He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." —Mark 7:6-9
