It’s really a shame. I recently visited Moody Bible Institute’s website to look
around. I couldn’t find hardly anything in their doctrinal statement about the precious
blood of Jesus Christ. How can this be? The Bible warns us in 2nd Peter 2:1 that
false prophets would attempt to infiltrate the New Testament Church, and that
their method of attack would be one of subtlety, “…there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies…” Be leery of any
professed Christian group that evades the doctrine of Jesus' precious blood
that was sacrificed for our sins.
Carefully notice that the word “privily” is the Greek word “pareisago” which means to lead in aside, i.e., introduce surreptitiously. The word “surreptitiously” means: Marked by quiet and caution and secrecy; taking pains to avoid being observed. This is so important for us to comprehend today. God is warning us that Satan inspires false prophets to carefully, quietly and secretly deceive us without ever being noticed. How did the great Moody Memorial Church, founded by Dwight L. Moody, deteriorate into the ecumenical, bloodless, Lordship Salvation teaching mess it is today?
This fully explains how an unsaved modernist like Dr. John MacArthur, who denies the efficacy of Jesus' physical blood, can be honored year-after-year by Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. They have been deceived by Satan. John MacArthur treads under foot the precious literal blood of Jesus Christ. There is no doctrine any more fundamental to Christianity than the literal, physical, redeeming, precious blood of Jesus Christ (1st Peter 1:18,19; Hebrews 9:12,24). Why does Moody Bible Institute honor such a heretic?
John MacArthur is a leader in the pseudo-Christian world today. Kirk Cameron, who is Ray's Comfort's sidekick, promotes the John MacArthur Study Bible on his website; and as mentioned, Mr. Comfort quotes John MacArthur numerous times in THE EVIDENCE BIBLE. Things are not as they appear folks. Satan looks for sincerely misguided people to teach a sincerely misguided, but corrupted, gospel. MacArthur, Comfort and Cameron all teach that faith in Jesus Christ is insufficient to save without forsaking the sins in one's life (which they wrongly define as repentance). This is not the gospel taught in the Bible, which states in Romans 4:5 that a man's faith is COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS!
Here are the well-stated words of the mighty preacher and founder of Moody Bible Institute himself, Pastor Dwight L. Moody, concerning the necessity of the literal, physical, precious blood of Jesus Christ . . .
“Exodus 12:13. `When I see the blood I will pass over you.' He does not say, When I see the live lamb tied up to the door-post, I will pass over you. No more does He say, When I see the living Christ in all His moral glory and loveliness, scattering blessings all around His path, I will pass over you; but when I see the blood, `for without shedding of blood is no remission.' Sinner, Christ has shed His blood for you. You will have peace looking to His blood; you will be safe there, or you will be exposed to the wrath of God without it.”

So how can John MacArthur teach that Jesus' literal blood is insignificant to save anyone? MacArthur deceitfully says that Jesus' blood is precious and important, but only in that the blood REPRESENTS the death of Jesus at Calvary. The Bible never teaches that Jesus' blood is only symbolic or representative of Christ's death. That is heresy! MacArthur is wrong! It's not just a minor doctrinal difference. The literal, physical blood of Jesus is the very reason for our salvation.
The Bible plainly teaches that Jesus' literal, physical blood was necessary to wash our sins away. Hebrews 9:12,24, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us ... For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.” Jesus took His literal blood into the Holy Place to apply to the heavenly Mercy Seat, just as the Old Testament highpriest applied the literal blood of a slain lamb to the mercyseat in the holy of holies once a year to atone for the sins of the people.
As America becomes more and more apostate, so also do we find the simplicity of the gospel being corrupted. The four biggest attacks against Biblical salvation today are works salvation, Lordship Salvation, a bloodless theology and the false notion that salvation can be lost due to sin.
We are SINNERS and Jesus is the SAVIOR! Salvation is receiving, not giving. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt that we could not pay. 1st Peter 1:18-19 proclaims that we were redeemed by THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS!!!
