Galatians 1:9 and 2nd Corinthians 11:4, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed... For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
How important is the gospel of Jesus Christ to you? Do you care that people
are preaching multiple different gospels and claiming it's just a matter of
semantics? Granted, 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 simplifies the gospel as the
death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, if you think that
anyone who believes that is saved, you'd better consider that every unsaved
Roman Catholic who trusts in the Seven Sacraments also believes that Jesus
died, was buried and arose three days later. Clearly, the Biblical gospel
excludes all forms of self-righteousness. This is the basis of my argument
against Ray Comfort's self-righteous teachings.
I have numerous subjects that I try to rotate in my Recent Articles, which is my daily pulpit for the Lord. I feel led by the Holy Spirit to preach more frequently against those areas where Satan is doing the most damage these days in our churches. Two woeful evils that I see are false modern Bibles and perverted gospels.
Ray Comfort is an extremely popular evangelist, with his ministries, THE WAY OF THE MASTER and LIVING WATERS. Kirk Cameron is his associate minister. Ray Comfort's teachings and ministry are at odds with the Bible, because Mr. Comfort is preaching ANOTHER GOSPEL (as our text Verse warns about). Whereas the Bible teaches that faith alone in the Savior (because He died, was buried and rose again) is the way of salvation for acknowledged sinners; Ray Comfort teaches that faith in Christ is NOT enough to save a person. Mr. Comfort plainly teaches that a person must not only admit their sins, but also cease from their sins (which is self-righteousness). Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron teach the heresy of Lordship Salvation...

Heresy! That is self-righteousness! Adding even the slightest work of self-righteousness to the Gospel corrupts it into a false way, a false plan, a road to damnation. Ray Comfort misunderstands the meaning of “repentance.” I dare you to show me even one Scripture where the Bible defines repentance concerning salvation as ceasing from one's sins.
Acts 26:20 says, “that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.” The word “meet” in the Greek is axios and means “deserving, comparable or suitable-worthy.” The Bible is saying that we ought to do works worthy of the salvation that we've been freely given in Christ. Scriptural evidence for this teaching is found in 1st Corinthians 6:20, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” Carefully notice that the Bible does not say to do works to make one worthy of being saved. No one is worthy of salvation. No one!
Ray Comfort's entire perverted view of the gospel hinges upon one's worthiness. That is, of you aren't willing to stop living in sin to be saved, then according to Ray Comfort you've not repented and faith in Christ means nothing.
On page 1513 of THE EVIDENCE BIBLE, under the section “Questions & Objections,” Ray Comfort addresses the statement: “Because Jesus died on the cross we are forgiven of every sin.” Here’s Ray Comfort’s reply to this statement…
“The forgiveness that is in Jesus Christ is conditional upon ‘repentance towards God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ’ (Acts 20:21). It is a gift that God offers to everyone, but individuals must receive it by repenting and trusting in Christ, or they will remain dead in their sins. No one has Biblical grounds to continue in sin, assuming that they are safe just because Jesus died on the cross. See 1 John 3:4-6.” [Emphasis added]

The preceding teaching from Ray Comfort's THE EVIDENCE BIBLE 100% identifies him as a false prophet who's propagating a false gospel of works-salvation. Ray Comfort denies teaching works-salvation; yet totally contradicts himself by mandating that a sinner stop sinning to be saved.
Ray Comfort is not God and it's not his place to force people to live right in order to qualify for salvation. Honestly, the whole thing is disgusting. Mr. Comfort would have everyone to believe that it's just a matter of trifle semantics, but only a willing fool would deny the two VERY DIFFERENT gospels being presented here. Either eternal life is without works; or else you must cease from your sins to obtain it.
The entire problem is that Ray Comfort, Kirk
Cameron and Paul Washer all have a major unbiblical misunderstanding of what
“repentance” means. Whereas the Greek word for repentance concerning
salvation merely means “a change of mind”; Ray Comfort and other Lordship
Salvationists interpret it to mean, “stop living in sin and give up the
world.” Don't believe me, read

MacArthur is the kingpin of heresy in California, which has infected
thousands of churches worldwide (including
Moody Bible Institute in
Chicago). I triple dog dare you to read Moody's plan of salvation today as
compared to what Pastor Harry Ironside taught
when he pastored Moody memorial Church in Chicago decades ago.
What About Charles Spurgeon?
I am so sick of hearing Ray Comfort and John MacArthur misquote Charles Spurgeon in a wicked attempt to justify their damnable Lordship Salvation heresy. Below is a quote by Charles H. Spurgeon that you'll never heard from any of these liars and deceivers. As with other false prophets, Ray Comfort leans heavily upon the quotes of historically great men to support his unbiblical position. THE EVIDENCE BIBLE quotes Spurgeon often. Unfortunately, Ray Comfort (as does John MacArthur) horribly take Charles Spurgeon's words out of context, and claim that Spurgeon taught Lordship Salvation. Nothing could be further from the truth, as this quote by Spurgeon himself plainly reveals...
"You must not expect that you will be perfect in "repentance" before you are saved. No Christian can be perfect. "Repentance" is a grace. Some people preach it as a condition of salvation. Condition of nonsense! There are no conditions of salvation. God gives the salvation himself..."

Why doesn't Ray Comfort quote those words by Spurgeon? Ray Comfort is guilty of twisting the Scriptures around and misrepresenting the beliefs of Spurgeon to support his unbiblical position.
You can't show me one verse in the entire Bible
that requires a person to give up their sinful lifestyle to be saved. Salvation
is receiving, not giving. It's not what you're doing that gets you to
Heaven, it's where
you're looking. It's
not just a matter of semantics. Salvation is not something you do to
get; it's something you receive to have. Why is that so hard for some people
to grasp?
Corrupt Bibles Yield Corrupt Doctrines
Mr. Comfort also uses corrupt Bibles, such as the New King James Bible in his THE EVIDENCE BIBLE. Ray Comfort has influence over millions-upon-millions of people around the world, and they follow him; but unfortunately, they “do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29).
One who acknowledges their sinnership before God and believes on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God (Who died, was buried and rose again) is saved. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” If you're not willing to stop shacking-up, getting drunk, cheating on your income taxes or whatever... it doesn't matter... the Lord will save you simply by faith! This doesn't give anyone permission to sin, clearly taught in Romans 3:31. Furthermore, God will chastise His children if they continue in sin (Hebrews 12:6-8).
Albeit, some of God's children DO continue in sin (1st Corinthians 5:5), which is why their works of wood, hay and stubble will be burned up at the Judgment Seat of Christ (1st Corinthians 3:15). If you believe the garbage that Ray Comfort is teaching, then there won't be any carnal believers in Heaven (they'll all be in Hell). If Ray Comfort is correct in his corrupt gospel, then 1st Corinthians 3:15 makes no sense at all. Why would such a wicked Christian, who received not even one reward from God, be allowed into Heaven?
Clearly, Ray Comfort, Paul Washer and Kirk Cameron are false prophets! You'll never hear any of these men expose Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn or all the other phony-bologna TV preachers! They don't step on anyone's toes because they don't want to be considered as being judgmental or hateful. What a bunch of malarkey! Let me tell you something brother, if the world doesn't hate you and persecute you, you're not letting your light shine for Jesus Christ! (John 15:19; 2nd Timothy 3:12).
The biggest enemy, threat and danger to the work of Christ today is NOT atheists, homosexuals, witches, pornographers and skeptics. The biggest enemy, threat and danger to the work of Christ today is FALSE BIBLES, FALSE RELIGIONS, FALSE PROPHETS and FALSE GOSPELS!!! Ray Comfort not only fails to expose false gospels and false prophets, but he himself preaches ANOTHER GOSPEL of salvation by self-righteousness. If a person has to stop cheating on their income taxes to be saved or stop committing adultery, that is self-righteousness!!! What do you think the term “SELF” righteous means? It means that you are trying to clean up your act, turn over a new leaf, surrender your selfish will and commit your life to God in an attempt to merit saved. It cannot happen my friend. The only true righteousness is that found in Jesus Christ, which Romans 4:5 says is only offered to THE UNGODLY!!! Christ's righteousness is IMPUTED to sinners who repent toward God by faith to be forgiven of their sins in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Benny Hinn correctly preaches the gospel in one meeting, promotes Our Lady of Fatima on the Larry King Live Show, practices demonic Charismatic speaking in unknown tongues (which never happened in the Bible), and is a total color-changing chameleon in the religious world. Benny Hinn is to the Charismatic religious world what Billy Graham is to the evangelical religious world. Both men are evil, having sold their souls to the Devil, and are deliberately trying to lead the masses into One World Religion.
Benny Hinn has many faces and ought to be called, BENNY SIN! Why would Benny Hinn preach the Biblical gospel in any meetings? To confuse people. This is why the demon-possessed damsel followed Paul for days, shouting out that they were preaching the true gospel. She was discrediting their message. Benny Hinn's fraud, lying and clownish onstage antics has driven tens-of-millions of people away from even being willing to listen to a gospel preacher.
The Catholic Church is the biggest Satanic cult in the world, but Ray Comfort caters to them. I dare you to name one Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) singer who speaks out against the cult of Catholicism. The Devil has infiltrated our evangelical circles with Roman Catholics like Michael W. Smith and stupid people don't even realize it. Sadly, many don't care because they're so far from the Lord or have never been saved at all.
