Enemies of God
by David J. Stewart
"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." —James 4:
God says that we are His ENEMY if we are friends with the world. What is the definition of a "friend?"
FRIEND:
A person you know well and regard with affection and trust.
An associate who provides assistance.
A person with whom you are acquainted.
Please notice in James 4:4 that we become God's enemy when WE ARE a friend of the world. Look again at the definitions of a friend. We are God's enemy when we assist the world. This means that every beer truck driver is the enemy of God. This means that every bartender is the enemy of God. This means that every doctor who performs an abortion is the enemy of God. This means that every nurse who assists murdering a child in an abortion is the enemy of God. This means that every greedy publisher that corrupts the Bible is the enemy of God. This means that George W. Bush, who signed presidential directive W199i to protect the terrorists from being investigated, is the enemy of God (and the American people). This means that every casino owner is the enemy of God. There are MANY enemies of God in this world.
What does the Bible mean by the term "world?" The world is that mass of humanity which has alienated itself from God and is therefore hostile to the cause of Christ. The "world" which the Bible refers to is the wickedness of the real world...hidden behind the neon lights of Sin City. God hates the casinos, the prostitution, the booze, the heathen music, the illegal drugs, etc. The world hates God. The world is like a man with a gun in one hand and a saxophone in the other, he drowns out the crying voices of his many victims with his saxophone. Is this not the world? While millions upon millions of children are murdered through godless abortion, the music and movies of Hollywood captivate our every thought. While millions of children are starving to death around the world, people are enamored with everything imaginable.
God hates the world's wickedness. Oh, but God loves the people of the world...
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, I beg you to please do so now...
