The reason why I trust Jesus is because I believe the Bible is God's Word.
You either believe the Bible or you don't. I read in the news recently that
95%
of Americans believe in God. Yet, disturbingly, only
7% of
Americans believe the Bible as evangelical Christians. This is because most
people have churchianity without Christianity.
1st Peter 1:23 teaches that we are born-again by the precious Seed of God's Word, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” There can be NO salvation apart from the Word of God, for the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16).
It is ironic that 95% of Americans believe in God, while only 7% consider themselves Bible-believing evangelical Christians. Jesus plainly stated in John 4:24 that God can only be worshipped in truth and spirit. Those who profess to believe in God, while denying the inspiration of the Scriptures, are worshipping they know not what (John 4:22). Jesus said in Mark 7:9 that those who reject the COMMANDMENTS of God, keeping their own TRADITIONS instead, worship God in vain (Mark 7:13).
This is so tragic. Most people profess to believe in God; but hardly anyone believes the truth of God's Word. They are still hellbound in their sins. There is only one way to worship God, and that is in TRUTH. Jesus said in John 17:17 that the Bible is truth. This is why Jesus commands for us to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES in John 5:39. We are born-again by the Seed of God's Word (1st Peter 1:23). We grow as newborn babes on the milk of the Word (1st Peter 2:2). We are sanctified by the Word of God (John 17:17). Everything that we need to live the Christian life is found in the holy Scriptures. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
I trust Jesus because the Bible plainly teaches that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” The Bible gives specific details about salvation, thankfully. There is no room for speculation concerning what a person must do to be saved. The word “believe” is found 85 times in the Gospel of John. The Bible plainly teaches that the way to be saved is to simply acknowledge one's guilt of sin before God and believe on Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, for forgiveness. Acts 10:43, “To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins.” It's that simple. Salvation is of the Lord. Our part is simply to believe.
According to the Bible, there are no religions that can get a person into Heaven. Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” Religions go about to establish their own righteousness; but the Bible says we can only be saved by God's righteousness, which is by faith in Jesus Christ. Churchianity is not Christianity.
Religion wants to fit us with glasses; the Lord wants to open our eyes. Religion, if it shows us the Word at all, shows it to us through a filter of tradition. The Lord wants us to be free to preach and believe the Word as it is.
Proverb 30:12, “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.” Religion is the worst thing that ever happened to this world. Salvation is NOT found in any religion; but rather, in a Person—The Lord Jesus Christ!
I trust Jesus Christ, the Son of God, because I believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word. I trusted Jesus as my Savior as a young teenager. Jesus is precious to me. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Who paid my sin debt because He loves me (1st John 3:16). Every religion can be traced back to a mortal man or group of men; but Biblical Christianity can be traced back to the beginning of time. Genesis 4:26, “then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.” In approximately 2,000 B.C., Abraham believed the Lord and it was counted unto him for righteousness (Genesis 15:6; Romans 4:3-6). Those who claim that Christianity began with Jesus are ignorant of the Scriptures.
There are so many things that prove the Bible to be true for the honest observer. Forty different writers, over a period of 1,500 years, from different nations, who spoke different languages, penned the Bible under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God. The finished result was a perfect manuscript, which perfectly harmonizes. Unlike the Qur'an, which contains NO prophecy, the Bible contains many prophecies.
Archeologists have unearthed over 5,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. The Dead Sea Scrolls are nothing short of incredible. Whether complete books, or small fragments, the amazing thing is that all of these manuscripts have been found scattered throughout different nations. If, as many claim, the Bible was merely authored by men, then how could they accomplish such a feat? How could they write so many different books, by so many different authors, from so many different nations, who spoke multiple different languages, and those manuscripts were buried in so many different places and nations? Such a feat would be impossible if it were a conspiracy to manipulate the masses. The very way in which the Bible came into man's possession is an irrefutable miracle that proves the Bible is God's Word. And amazingly, all of these books perfectly cross reference to form a solid Biblical theology. Incredible!
I believe on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, because I believe the Bible is God's inspired Word. There is no such thing as a born-again Christian who doesn't believe the Bible. It's impossible! There are many religious people who don't believe the Bible and are unsaved; but there are no true Christians who reject the Bible as God's Word. This is why true Christians make a fuss over which Bible, because a corrupt Bible brings forth corrupt fruit. Contemporary Bibles have been tampered with, corrupted, and are of the Devil.
The new birth begins with seeing Christ in the
Scriptures... “And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one
which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40). We see Jesus in
the Scriptures. John 5:39, “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think
ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.” I believe
on Jesus as my Savior because I believe that the Bible is God's inspired
Word. The Bible teaches in Acts 4:10-12 that the name of Jesus is the ONLY
name by which we can be saved. All God asks is that we believe on Jesus
Christ, the Son of God, to forgive our sins. Jesus is precious!
Conclusion
With all the thousands of religions in the world, perhaps you are wondering why you should trust Jesus Christ for eternal life? It is because the Bible is God's Word. Not one spadeful of archeologist's dirt has ever disproved the Bible. Not one Evolutionist has ever disproved the Bible. Not one enemy of God has ever proven their argument. Yet, the Bible is 100% accurate on everything it says. The Bible hits home describing the evil world (1st John 5:19). The Bible accurately teaches that Satan appears as an angel of light, and his false sinister ministers as ministers of righteousness (2nd Corinthians 11:13-15). The Bible is so honest, and accurate and telling.
Those who reject the Bible are digging their own grave. The Bible is your best friend in the world. All you need to do is accept it and obey God. The Bible is for everybody. God is no respecter of persons. There are no private messages or interpretations. The Bible is for you, me and anyone else who wants it. God will open the Scriptures to those who believe on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, for forgiveness of sins. Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven! Religion didn't die on the cross for our sins, Jesus did.
The Word of God is the Seed, the Gospel, by which we are saved if we'll simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). There are innumerable religions in the world, who all have their own religious pitch. I only present to you, Jesus. If you were to dig up the grave of Muhammad today, you'd find his body still there. The same is true of Gandhi, Confucius and other esteemed great men throughout history. But Jesus' tomb is empty! Jesus Christ is risen! Jesus tomb is empty!
If you trust religion to save you, then you are relying upon sinful men. Psalm 118:8, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” I am trusting Jesus, God almighty Who came in the flesh (1st Timothy 3:16), Who is the Christ (Matthew 16:16), the Son of God (John 3:16), for my salvation. Galatians 3:22, 24,26, “But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe ... Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith ... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” The Bible tells us to believe on Jesus to be saved. That is why I trust Jesus, because I believe that the Bible is God's Word. I don't listen to religion, I SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (John 5:39).
