Pastor
Jeff Owens is one of America's favorite preachers!!! He's an American
Bible teacher, pastor and author. He has been preaching the gospel since 1976. He is a man of great
expression, compassion and wisdom. He spent 18 years of his
life under the legendary ministry of Dr. Jack Hyles of First Baptist Church of
Hammond, Indiana, aka, “The World’s Largest Sunday School.” Since the
time of Dwight L. Moody, no other ministry has reached as many people for
Jesus Christ as Dr. Hyles' ministry.
Fourteen of these years, Dr. Owens was one of Dr. Hyles’ faithful assistant pastors,
who also served
as vice-president of Hyles-Anderson College. Hyles-Anderson College was
started in 1972 to prepare young men and women to better serve the Lord.
Unlike most dead-beat colleges, Hyles-Anderson has historically produced
preachers and not just teachers. The Spirit of God has been at work and
the results have been phenomenal!
For several years Brother Owens faithfully pastored the great
Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church, which is located in Martinsburg, West
Virginia. The church grew rapidly to an average Sunday attendance of over 1,000
people, and under his leadership the church became known as “One of America’s Most
Exciting Churches.” Thousands of souls were saved through believing
the gospel (death, burial and resurrection) of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Jeff is a diligent soulwinner, fervent preacher, and takes an
uncompromising stand against sin; but the hallmark quality of Dr. Owens is
his genuine love and concern for people. Would to God America had more
such faithful men of God.
Truly the following Scripture may happen soon... PERHAPS TODAY! “...The Lord
Himself shall descend from heaven” and “...the dead in Christ shall rise...” (1st Thessalonians 4:16). Even

*Historical Mention:
I gratefully attended Hyles-Anderson College (HAC) between 1985-1993. I
fully realize the incredible opportunity and blessing that I received by
being able to attend such a fundamental Baptist Bible college—and most
of all being able to partake, work and learn as part of the precious
soulwinning ministry of
Pastor Jack Hyles
(1926-2001), my hero of the Christian faith! I sure miss Brother
Hyles!!! Dr. Jeff Owens was one of my Bible professors at HAC, who
taught me a class on Pastoral Counseling, which I cherish. Each spring
the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, hosted it's annual
Pastor's School (which I cherish having worked in and attended each
year). I remember one particular year that Brother Hyles commission
Brother Owens to put together an Arby's roast beef restaurant on the
second floor of the church. I'm not kidding! Literally, after being told
multiple times by Arby's management that it just won't happen—IT
HAPPENED! Much planning and work went into setting up the Arby's
restaurant. The Arby's corporation required that every detail be exact!
I was amazed!!! For one week, just for Pastor's School there was a
fully-working Arby's restaurant, which Brother Owens put together with a
handful of volunteer students. It looked exactly like an Arby's in every
way. They had Food Manager's Licenses, all the Arby's restaurant decor,
and professional kitchen equipment—the whole nine-yards! Awesome! And
may I say, Brother Owens was well known at First Baptist Church of
Hammond and Hyles-Anderson College, as a humble and fervent soulwinner,
who loved people and made a difference for God!
