Star Trek Creator Gene Roddenberry—No Hero!

By David J. Stewart | March 2013

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” —Colossians 2:8

Gene Roddenberry (1921-1991) was a wicked unsaved atheist who died in his sins without Jesus Christ and went to Hell, sad to say. Roddenberry is infamous for creating and producing the STAR TREK series, which has been mega-successful as a multi-billion dollar enterprise. $BILLIONS! Roddenberry was infamous for his atheist quotes, such as this wicked statement...

“We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes.” —Gene Roddenberry

What an ungrateful man! Roddenberry has his nerve to dare accuse God of creating man “faulty.” The Bible plainly teaches that God created man upright, but sin caused man's fall. Ecclesiastes 7:29, “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions (wicked inventions like the Star Trek series, which portray life without God). It was Adam's sin that allowed sin to enter into the world. It wasn't God's fault that man sinned, anymore than it's our children's fault when we sin. No one can blame you for their sins. Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Gene Roddenberry was born with a sinful nature, and so were you, and so was I. 1st John 1:8-10 calls anyone a liar who denies their sinfulness.

Gene Roddenberry has received hundreds of awards, recognition, praise and public support for his blasphemous Star Trek work. The world is evil (1st John 2:15-17). It's amazing how people are so quick to embrace the idea that aliens may exist somewhere in the universe, but they vehemently reject the truth that the Bible is the Word of God. Is it so hard to believe that the God of the universe is a righteous and holy God? Not one spadeful of archaeologist's dirt has disproved the Bible. To the contrary, archaeology has totally backed-up Bible claims. Not one shred of science has ever contradicted the Bible as God's Word. Not one bit of history has discredited the Bible, ever!!! In every way, the sciences, history, archeology, paleontology and fulfilled prophecy has verified the Bible. Yet, some arrogant Hollywood producer has it all figured out and is going to deny the God of the Bible. Hell awaits every unbeliever!

Gene Roddenberry is no hero. I saw a recent TV special where guests were crying in support and admiration of Roddenberry. “Oh, what a wonderful man” they say. They all but worship Roddenberry (they do worship Star Trek), praising him as a god for giving people the hope of life beyond the earth. What is wrong with people? Why doesn't anyone believe the gospel preacher? I'll tell you why with one word... SIN! Men love their sins and refuse to come to a holy Savior to be saved. John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”

Jesus said in Luke 24:25, “Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.” Roddenberry was a complete fool who question the Word of God. When he died in 1991, Roddenberry learned how wrong he was about God and the Bible. Read Roddenberry's blasphemous statement again... “We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes.” —Gene Roddenberry. Does God blame mankind for His mistakes? Does God make mistakes? Roddenberry is attacking the inspired Words of God in the Bible, because the Bible teaches that all men are sinners, inherited from Adam and Eve.

Star Trek has drawn over a billion followers worldwide over the past 40 years since it began. The film series is highly New Age in doctrinal teachings and has a core of fanatic adherents, a science-fiction cult. Star Trek shows promotes the sinful occult ideas of atheism, telekinesis, psychic phenomena, life without God, mental telepathy, channeling and mental transference, spirit possession, et cetera.

Women appeared in immodest sensual miniskirts from the beginning, blaspheming the holy Bible. As with everything in society, the human mind often cannot tell reality from fiction. Many people believe Star Trek to be true. There is no Biblical teaching of life on other planets. There are no human beings anywhere else. Jesus came to the earth, born of a virgin by a miraculous birth, lived a sinless life and paid on the cross with His precious blood for our sins. Jesus said that only a FOOL is slow to believe all that Moses and the prophets have spoken in the Bible concerning Jesus, our Messiah!!!

Roddenberry died in his sins as an unbeliever in 1991, and is now tragically burning for all eternity in Hell. 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” (also, see Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8). God will not be mocked. Either Gene Roddenberry was right, or the Word of God in the Bible is right. Obviously, they can't both be right. Are you stupid enough to believe Gene Roddenberry over God? Roddenberry said “We must question the story logic of the Bible.” Oh really? Are you sure about that Gene?

Let me give everyone some good advice... don't bet against God, because you'll be the loser! Gene Roddenberry expressed his contempt for religion...

“For most people, religion is nothing more than a substitute for a malfunctioning brain. If people need religion, ignore them and maybe they will ignore you, and you can go on with your life. It wasn't until I was beginning to do Star Trek that the subject of religion arose. What brought it up was that people were saying that I would have a chaplain on board the Enterprise. I replied, "No, we don't.”  —Gene Roddenberry

Although religion is not the way to Heaven, and most religion is false religion, Roddenberry obviously concluded the gospel of Jesus Christ as a part of religion. Anything (like Star Trek) that leads people's minds into a world that alienates them from the GOD OF THE BIBLE, that person and their works are of the Devil.

Original Star Trek Portrayed Jesus As Alien Beamed Down From Spaceship

From the start, Gene Roddenberry had intentions of casting doubt upon the inspiration of the Bible as the Word of God. Roddenberry was going to portray the Old Testament prophets and Jesus as aliens from out space, portraying God as an inferior alien being with selfish agendas and a malfunctioning spaceship...

In May 1975, Gene Roddenberry accepted an offer from Paramount to develop Star Trek into a feature film, and moved back into his old office on the Paramount lot. His proposed story told of a flying saucer, hovering above Earth, that was programmed to send down people who looked like prophets, including Jesus Christ. Who or what had programmed the craft was not addressed. 'Basically,' Jon Povill says, 'God was a malfunctioning spaceship.' By July, Paramount had rejected the treatment. Roddenberry blamed the religious backgrounds of Paramount executives, including Barry Diller, a practicing Catholic, for the rejection of his story. [p.165]

One former Star Trek employee said, “Star Trek has become such an important part of the human nomenclature”

I am not judging anyone, for we are all sinners. I am exposing the Star Trek franchise for the wickedness that it was intended to be, and certainly is. God is not glorified in any way by Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry was no hero. He is infamous as a humanist and as an atheist. The Bible is a matter of life and death. I hope you realize that. Apart from faith in Jesus as the Christ, no one can enter into the kingdom of God. God doesn't blame us for our mistakes. In fact, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay our sin debt (John 3:16). Mr. Roddenberry blasphemes and attacks the very God Who made a way of escape through faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is offered as a free gift (Romans 6:23), but it can only be received by faith in Jesus as the Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:26). Sadly, most people are on a highway to Hell, as was Gene Roddenberry (Matthew 7:13-14).

I am not trying to be mean. I have nothing personal against Star Trek fans, nor Mr. Roddenberry. It just disturbs me that millions of people sing praises to this wicked man who blasphemed the God of the Bible, accusing the Lord of creating faulty men and then blaming them for something beyond their control. Who are we as men to question our Creator? Who are we to challenge the righteous God Who gave His only begotten Son to pay our sin debt? The truth is that Roddenberry is not sincerely questioning God, but rather, attempting to justify his sin of unbelief. God is good to all mankind. The Lord is just to all men. Luke 6:35 says that God is kind to the evil and to the unthankful, like Roddenberry.

Philippians 4:6 teaches that, as believers, we ought to pray with a spirit of thanksgiving at all times. Romans 1:18 teaches that a lack of gratitude is the first step downward in a life of rebellion against God, homosexuality and the damnation of the Lake of Fire in eternity. Roddenberry stated before his death in 1991 that he and his team regretted not addressing the gay issue in Star Trek, and he vowed to place gay actors in future episodes of Star Trek. Hollywood is homosexual headquarters, far more filled with queer Twinkies than San Francisco.

God hates sin, all sin, which is why He casts people into Hell if they reject God's way out through faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My intent in writing and publishing this article is to draw attention to the gospel, and to expose another famous influential wicked person who rejected the gospel, and to warn others concerning the Biblical consequences of rejecting the gospel. Religion may be a game to many people, but Christianity is NO game I assure you my friend. Churchianity will not save a person; but Christianity will, by faith in the Death, BURIAL and RESURRECTION of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31).

You know... I recently saw something crazy on TV, where a muscle man lifted 2,000 lbs (a ton) with his jaw (yes, jaw). I thought that was insane until I saw a man let another guy kick him in the unprotected groin as hard as he could. That's the Devil putting those crazy ideas into people's minds. But the craziest thing of all is the attitude of people like Gene Roddenberry, who speak evil against God, vilifying the Lord and openly rejecting Jesus as the Christ (Who died, was buried and miraculously resurrected after three days for our sins). Thank you Lord!
