The Deception Of Buying Gold

By David J. Stewart

Proverb 11:28, “He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.”

I'm so sick and tired of hearing salesmen on the radio trying to sell gold. They warn that money is soon going to be worthless and you need to invest in gold, gold, gold! The truth is that they are making a buck for themselves. The best investment you can make is to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” as Jesus said in Matthew 6:20. That's where true riches are at!

While it is true that FIAT money (what Rep. Ron Paul correctly terms, “funny money”) is soon going to be worthless, gold won't help you much when society is out of food, crime is running rampant and a Police State operates in full-force. Gold will be worthless too, as it will be confiscated, just as the government confiscated all the Liberty Dollars and ran the proprietors out of town. Even now, the U.S. government has started tracking and monitoring all sales of gold.

You can't beat an evil system when more than 95% of the public are Kool-Aid drinking, mainstream media, idiots. America is doomed because love for sin has overtaken our nation. It's going to be just like Planet of the Apes when American society economically implodes. Psalms:19:7: The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Psalms 19:8-10, “The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”

Did you read those wonderful Words? The Bible says that God's Words are to be desired and sought after more than gold, even much fine (pure) gold...

“...More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold.”

I am tired of hearing men boast about the value of gold, who never even mention the precious words of God. All I hear on the radio is “buy gold, buy gold, buy gold”; while they talk about how people will be sorry and regret not buying much gold. Why do not men warn about the dangers of eternal damnation in hell-fire? Why do they not promote how to receive God's free gift of salvation? Eternal life doesn't cost anyone a penny. The reason why men don't talk about spiritual matters is because they are carnally-minded. Likely they are not saved themselves. The Words of God are the most important thing in any person's life (and if they're not something is very wrong).

As of July 2012, gold's present price per ounce is $1,584.14.[1] That's $25,346.24 per pound for gold!!! The Bible ought to be more desirable to you than gold, and if it's not you're not right with God. Are you saved? Have you been born-again by the Spirit of God, by faith in the seed of the Word of God (i.e., the Gospel). Christ died, was buried and rose up from the dead. This is the Gospel (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). If you receive the Gospel as payment for YOUR SINS, then you are saved.

God has PROMISED to give us all things along with the gift of His dear Son (Romans 8:32). God owns the cattle on 1,000 hills...

Psalms 50:10, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”

1st Corinthians 10:26 says that the earth is the LORD'S and the fulness thereof. In eternity Jesus will give to me everything I could ever want. I have that hope, based on the Scriptures. God is my strength, not gold...

Psalms 18:2, “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

Jesus tells believers in Matthew 6:20 to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” This is the greatest investment.

Some people naively believe that they're going to be ok, while 99% of the society they live in is in utter ruins. Gold won't help you when there's no food to buy, and no place to trade your gold and the government has totalitarian control over everything. All the gold owned by the Jews didn't save them from Hitler. All the Russian's gold didn't save them from Lenin and Stalin. Gold hasn't saved any society from the tyranny of monstrous dictatorships in the past, what makes you think that it's any different here and now?

Of course, if you like to look at the beautiful luster of gold, or need a good paperweight, then perhaps you might have some benefit from buying gold; but as far as hedging yourself against future economic collapse... good luck with that!

The best, safest and only sure investment is found in Matthew 6:20, “But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.”

A Lesson From The Lord About The Importance Of Money

It's interesting that Jesus entrusted Judas, a known thief (John 12:6), with the money bag. Of all 12 disciples, Jesus gave the money to the one who couldn't be trusted. Why did Jesus put Judas in charge of the money? It's because it was the least important job! Jesus' ministry was so not-money-oriented that He took the guy that He knew was a phony and said, “Here, you handle the money!” Money is the thing that matters the least to God.

Sadly, the thing that means the least to God we often value the most. Why do you think Heaven's streets are made of gold? God made gold rare here on earth, but plenteous in Heaven, to teach us a lesson. Jesus didn't care about money. So many people worship money. Jesus was concerned with pleasing the Father, preaching the gospel and helping others. Money meant nothing to the Lord, but it meant everything to Judas. The Lord gave Judas what meant so much to him. The love of money was the root of all Judas' problems.

As believers money should be the LEAST important thing to us. Amen!

If it's printed on paper, it's worth the paper it's printed on!
