The Truth And Salvation
By David J. Stewart
Ecclesiastes 12:14, “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Truth is fallen in the street. Isaiah 59:14, “And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Carefully notice that the Bible associates truth with justice (Hebrew: rightness) and equity (Hebrew: integrity). When truth is abandoned, so also is morality and honesty. No wonder America has become a dungheap—a morally toxic society saturated with demonic influences everywhere we turn these days! Americans have deliberately rejected the truth about everything, primarily God's Word.
Consider the shocking indictment of the unbelieving masses of humanity in 2nd Thessalonians 2:9-10, “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” As you've just read, when the Antichrist comes he will succeed in deceiving the masses because they RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH that they might be saved. What a statement... THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH!!!
Coming to Jesus Christ for salvation requires opening one's heart to the truth of the gospel. Satan blinds the MINDS of unbelieving people to hinder them from coming to the gospel to be saved. Satan blinds the mind through false religion, evolution, humanism and secular philosophies. The Bible teaches in Romans 10:9 that a man is saved when He believes in the HEART upon Christ Who died, was buried and rose again for our sins. Literally, the reason why people are not getting saved these days is because they do not want the truth. They openly reject the truth. You can speak truth in their ears all day and all night, but your words are as the seeds which fell amongst the rocks (Luke 8:12-15).
Is it any wonder why Jesus proclaimed to be THE TRUTH in John 14:6). Is it any wonder why Jesus said to Pilate in John 18:37, “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto THE TRUTH. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” Notice what Jesus said... every one that is of THE TRUTH heareth My voice. Are you of THE TRUTH? Clearly there is a connection between a person's desire to know the truth and salvation. You cannot be saved without having the truth of the gospel to believe. Therefore, if you have no desire to know the truth, then you're not going to receive the gospel either. This is what the Bible is saying.
I hope you will choose to know and obey THE TRUTH of the gospel. Salvation is a PROMISE from God. Jesus paid our sin debt. It's simple to be saved. You don't have to be religious, nor do you have to be water baptized, nor do you have to commit your life to serve God, nor amend your ways, nor do anything to be saved; except trust upon the name of Jesus as the Christ. Do you believe what the Bible teaches concerning Jesus? Do you believe that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to pay for your sins with His blood? Do you receive the truth that Jesus is the Christ (the Savior).
Do you believe that Jesus died, was buried and rose again to pay for your sins? If you do, then you are saved. Salvation is instant and immediate. Being born-again by the Spirit of God is a new birth, a second birth, a spiritual birth. Salvation is NOT a prayer. It is not turning over a new leaf. It is not joining a religious denomination or church. Salvation is a supernatural miracle of God in response to one's faith in the Son of God. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
Ecclesiastes 3:17 and 12:14, “I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. ... For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
