"They have taken away my Lord"
"And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him." (John 20:13)
Mary Magdalene was already saddened at the death of Jesus, and now His body
was mysteriously gone from the tomb. She was perplexed in unbelief. The
Bible says in John 20:11-13... "But Mary stood without at the sepulchre
weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,
And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at
the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman,
why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my
Lord, and I know not where they have laid him."
Mary and the other disciples of Christ should have known that Jesus was to be resurrected from the dead; but they were ignorant of the Scriptures as we are told in John 20:9... "For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead." Jesus Himself prophesied that He would rise from the dead after 3-days (Matthew 12:40; 26:61; 27:63).
Fortunately, the disciples later understood what the Scriptures meant, as we find Peter in Acts 2:26-28 quoting Psalm 10:9-11 in reference to Jesus Christ. Paul also quoted Psalm 16:10 in Acts 13:35, referring to Jesus. It’s extremely important that we, as Believers, be knowledgeable concerning the Scriptures and not remain ignorant. In John 5:39 Jesus commands... SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!! We must read the Bible and go the extra mile to study the meaning of what we are reading. Many people read the Bible and just skip over the things that don’t make sense. Thus, they never truly learn the Scriptures. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth (John 16:13). Get an Unger's Bible Dictionary and a Strong's Concordance to assist your studies. Never believe something just because someone says it! Get your Bible out and verify the information! Many people were saved as a result of Paul’s preaching at Berea because they “searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11). There are multitudes of false doctrines and heresies circulating in churches today. Beware!
Mary
Magdalene stood outside of the sepulcher at Jesus’ Grave. As she wept,
she stooped down to look inside and saw two angels in white. The two
angels asked her why she was weeping and her reply is the topic of this article,
“They have taken away my Lord.” Mary
believed that someone had stolen Jesus. She did not realize that Jesus had
risen from the grave. Just as Mary, many believers today fret and jump to
hasty erroneous conclusions, because they fail to understand the times in
which we live in relation to the Scriptures. The greatest wealth a person
can possess is a fundamental knowledge of the Scriptures.
They Have Taken Away My Lord!
Sad, but true—many unbelievers, God-haters and sickos today have taken away our Lord from society.
They have taken
away my Lord out of the multitudes of
perverted Bibles which have flooded our churches. The
New International
Version [NIV] removes “JESUS,” the name which is above every other name, in
38 places in the New Testament. Jesus is no longer the “ONLY
BEGOTTEN” son of God in John 3:16. Look for yourself! The words
GODHEAD, MERCYSEAT, PROPITIATION and JEHOVAH are gone. The NIV removes
64,576 words in one way or another from God’s Word! The NIV is not
God’s Holy Bible—no way! Jesus is no longer WORSHIPPED in all these new
versions—now He’s only "knelt" down too. I can kneel before a king
without worshipping him. 1st Timothy 3:16 used to say “GOD WAS MANIFEST IN
THE FLESH,” now it merely says “he was revealed in a body." What
blasphemy! The word “Theo” (God) is in the Greek. Why did they
corrupt this Scripture? They have taken away my
Lord! Do you see the subtlety of Satan? The
King
James Bible of 1611 is the ONLY Bible I would ever trust
and read in the English language! Every other version on the market today has been messed with by
the Devil! It is a shame that so many Believers are woefully ignorant on this matter.
Satan is a master of deceit and a counterfeiter—beware!
They
have taken away my Lord
out of the public school
system. In the early 1970’s, God’s Word was legally banned from being in the
classroom anymore. The curse continues today! They said to God, “take
your Book and get out!” Children who were once taught
about God and creation are now being taught about self and evolution. It’s
acceptable with unbelievers to teach little Johnny that he evolved from some
low-life species, but they won’t allow him to learn THE TRUTH--The truth that
little Johnny was created in the very image of his God and Creator! They
have taken away my Lord! Oh, such
wickedness that God tolerates.
They have taken away my Lord on TV and on the radio. Nothing is sacred anymore to these heathen producers, actors, writers, singers, etc. The home is weakened, manhood is diminished, women are exploited, God is mocked, the Bible is nowhere to be found, Hell is a joke, sin is glorified, nothing is to be taken serious and now there’s even shows centering around homosexuality. Everything is a big joke to them! It won’t be amusing on judgment day! Pray Not For This People!
They have taken away my Lord in the Supreme Court. They’ve legalized the murder of tens-of-millions of innocent children through cruel abortion since the early 1970’s. It is no coincidence that this country went down the tubes in the early 1970’s following the pot-smoking hippie rebellion of the 1960’s. Today, our society has been shaped by the vile Rock music culture. I never thought I'd see the day when Ozzy Osbourne would be a hero in the U.S. He is infamous for his blasphemies against Christ and his Satanism. He's so popular that he has been given his own show and a $20 million contract with MTV. They have taken away my Lord! Sin is running rampant today. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
They have taken away my Lord in Godless state universities and secular colleges across this nation. Everywhere, young people are being influenced by the heathen philosophies of Humanism (i.e., man is his own God), Evolution (there is no God), free-thinking (if it feels good do it) and Modernism (taking the Bible lightly). Humanism is an insane form of thinking that invades the human mind convincing it of it’s superiority over God and His truth. Humanism is taught everywhere today! Humanism teaches, "man can govern himself and doesn’t need God.” Humanism teaches, “man can solve his own problems by uniting together." McDonalds says, “you deserve a break today." No, you deserve to go straight to hell-fire and damnation right now! Burger King says, “have it your way." No, you had better do it God’s way or else! Do you see the blatant Humanism in our society? Man is not good, but corrupt and inherently evil from birth, “...there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). We are also warned about doing things our own way (Proverb 16:25). Frank Sinatra sang “I did it my way." He’s not singing that in Hell. Mankind is prone to deception... “There is a way which SEEMETH right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). You go ahead and do it your way (good luck with that). I'll do it God's way.
Frank Sinatra mocked the preacher, Billy Sunday, in
his song
“Chicago, Chicago." He says in there, "the
town Billy Sunday couldn’t shut down." Billy Sunday was a
professional baseball player who had become a born-again Christian in Chicago at
the Pacific Garden Mission on south State Street. He became a mighty man of God and was known
for his tough stand against alcohol, dancing and gambling. Though
the prohibition years were a great victory for sin-separated Christians, evil
always seems to prevail in this wicked world we live in (1st John
5:19). Today, alcohol flows in our nation like water down the house
gutters during a thunderstorm. It is wickedness!
Frank Sinatra mocked Billy Sunday’s preaching and will be sentenced to the Lake of Fire at the Great White Throne of Judgment. Sinatra is dead today and I have no doubt, tormented in hellfire. So very sad! Sinatra chased wine, women and song and did it “MY WAY." How tragic and unnecessary is it for anyone to go to Hell. Frank Sinatra allowed fame and fortune to take away Jesus from his own life. He chose rather to live foolishly, “for a season in the pleasures of sin" (2nd Timothy 3:4; Titus 3:3; Hebrews 11:25). He didn’t go to Hell because of his sins; Sinatra went to Hell because he rejected Jesus Christ as his personal Savior! Sin keeps men from getting saved! ... “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved” (John 3:20). Please don’t make the same foolish mistake as Mr. Sinatra. Society may try to remove the Lord from it's schools, laws, activities and so forth; but they can't remove the Lord Jesus Christ from reality. Everything from our yearly calendar to the very basis of equitable law is rooted in the Bible. The Word of God is incontrovertible (impossible to deny or disprove). Anyone with an honest heart acknowledges this. Oh, that men would fear God and trust the Lord!
Would you like to be saved? Admit to God now that you’re a hell-deserving sinner, GUILTY of violating God's holy Law (Romans 3:19). Believe (trust) upon the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive all your sins and save you... "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins" (Acts 10:43). You are a sinner and will go to Hell if you die in your sins (Romans 6:23; 2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9). Only Jesus' precious blood can wash one's sins away eternally (1st Peter 1:18,19). This happens the very moment we BELIEVE on Jesus Christ as our Savior, our only remedy for sin. No amount of self-righteousness can suffice. We must have HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (Matthew 6:33; 2nd Corinthians 5:21).
