“As it is written”

Luke 21:33, “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

In the New Testament, we find the phrase “as it is written” mentioned 31 times. This phrase is often overlooked and taken for granted, but what does it mean? Why did God use this phrase so often in the Bible?

First, anytime you read the phrase “as it is written,” then you know that there's an Old Testament Scripture that is being referred to. For example: In Romans 3:10 we read, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” We read in Ecclesiastes 7:20, For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” The New Testament makes literally hundreds of references to the Old Testament.

The phrase “as it is written” is used by the writer to add emphasis or to support their argument or teaching. In the New Testament, the only Bible they had at the time was the Old Testament. The entire Bible wasn't completed until A.D. 96 with the book of Revelation. Today, thousands of years later, we still hear God's men saying, “as it is written in the Scriptures” or “the Bible says.”

God has given to us the holy Scriptures to live by, to guide us, and to instruct us throughout life. God's Holy Spirit uses the Scriptures to accomplish this (John 16:13). Someone has said: when as else fails read the instructions! The Bible is our instruction manual. God mentions the phrase “as it is written” 31 times for a reason, that is, to teach us to use the Scriptures. God could have just made a statement and not emphasized what is being taught with a reference to another Scripture; but He chose to quote Scriptures.

Jesus continually quoted the Bible, as in Matthew 4:1-10 when Jesus was tempted. It is important to notice that Satan attacked Jesus all three times by twisting the meaning of the Bible, and Jesus resisted the Devil all three times by accurately quoting the Bible. We see here the importance of knowing our Bible well. No wonder Jesus commanded in John 5:39... SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!!

We read an interesting passage of Scripture in Isaiah 28:9-10, “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” The truth is learned precept upon precept; and line upon line; here a little and there a little. I have attempted through my online ministry to keep things as simple as possible, to provide basic information to get people started in their quest for knowledge and wisdom, to point people in the right direction. There's a ton of information on my website, something for everybody; but mostly aimed at those who are hungry for the truth and just getting started in their quest for the truth.

I'll tell you, I didn't wake up until 2002 concerning the truth about what's really going on in the world, and I've never turned back on my quest for the knowledge of the truth. The more I learn, the more I realize how much there is still to learn. After nine intensive years of trying to find and grasp the truth, I've just touched the surface of the iceberg.

There's one important thing that every truth-seeker must know, whoever you may be, and that is that you'll be spinning your wheels and going nowhere if you leave out the truth of God's Word. 2nd Timothy 3:1-2 and 7, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy... Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” The truth must begin with the saving power of the Gospel (Romans 1:16), for without the presence of God's Holy Spirit, you can never amount to more than an educated fool.

I admire anyone who is a truth-seeker; yet I don't see how anyone can remain an atheist. I was saddened when I learned that Jim Marrs, who authored the book Inside Job (concerning the 9/11 attacks) is an atheist who believes in aliens. Could not God be an alien? Yes, of course, by every definition of the word. I marvel how men can believe in aliens, but not a God. There is a God, and He authored the Bible. God has preserved the King James Bible in English for these Last Days, as English is fast-becoming the universal language of the world. God knew that when He gave to us the inspired King James Bible.

Truth begins with the fear of God and an acceptance of the Bible as God's Word. Truth begins with the acceptance of Jesus as the Christ, the only begotten Son of God Who came into the world to save sinners. Truth begins with understanding that Satan is the god of this world (2nd Corinthians 4:4). I hear a lot of researchers and authors talking about aliens, which is their substitute for demons; but they won't call them “demons” because they don't believe the Bible. Let's call evil spirits what they are Biblically, that is, demons. Ephesians 6:12 teaches that our battle is against demons, the powers of darkness, Satan; who inspires wickedness in highplaces. Ephesians 2:2 teaches that the prince of the power of the air (Lucifer) works in the children of disobedience. Evil has found a willing servant.

These are the basic understandings that you must posses when you begin a journey into the occult, Luciferianism, Satanism or the New World Order, for they are all synonymous at the most basic levels. Ultimately there is only God and Satan in the spirit world, and Satan is already a defeated being (Revelation 20:2; 20:10; 14:11).

When I began this ministry back in 2002, I wanted to create an online database of truth. I wanted to publish a website that gave people the truth about everything, to glorify God by helping people learn the truth.
