Bishop E. Bernard Jordan . . .
False Prophet!

By David J. Stewart

On his website, it is stated that Mr. Jordan is “the prophet.” Here is a brief quote from his website . . .

"Bishop E. Bernard Jordan is a man who has been singularly forged by the fire of destiny, which cause his eyes to burn with a vision for the Body of Christ that shall impact the entire world.

Born a native of Brooklyn, New York, Bishop Jordan received his ultimate calling at the age of 15, where he was summoned to prophesy. By the age of 24, he was recognized nationally as a prophet. Rising from the obscurity of the ghetto to his present and current fame he is known to millions as God’s messenger, the Prophet."

A little further down the webpage it states . . .

"Thousands of people attribute their success, prosperity, health and happiness directly to the master teachings of Bishop E. Bernard Jordan."

God deliver is from health, wealth and prosperity false prophets. Everything that the Bible teaches contradicts the idea that being a Christian is supposed to make someone rich, healthy and happy.

Consider the following Scriptures from the Bible:

John 16:20, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy."

2nd Timothy 3:12, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

John 16:33b, "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

James 2:5, "Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?"

Luke 16:20,22, "And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried."

1st Corinthians 4:11, "Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace." —THE APOSTLE PAUL

Matthew 8:20, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." —JESUS CHRIST

Hebrews 13:5, "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Covetousness is all we hear about from prosperity preachers . . .

2nd Peter 3:1,3, "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

The Scriptures warn us to beware of preachers who appeal to our desire for personal gain and prosperity. With suave words and cleverly crafted presentations they exploit people to “make merchandise,” i.e., make a profit. In my humble and honest opinion as a born-again Christian who loves Jesus Christ, Bernard Jordan is just another false prophet who exploits Christianity for his own personal gain. This is exactly what Benny Hinn, Don Stewart, Mike Murdock, Jimmy Swaggart, Peter Popoff, Pat Robertson and so many others false prophets do! They sinfully make merchandise of people by appealing to their covetous sinful nature.

I never write articles to be unkind, God forbid. I simply want people to beware of smooth-talkers like E. Bernard Jordan who claim to be of God, but are really of the Devil. Mr. Jordan sells his “master teachings” that he claims will bring a person health, wealth and prosperity if followed. Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow Him to be crucified . . .

Matthew 16:24, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

If you follow Christ, you will be hated by the world . . .

John 15:18,19, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

Jordan's website further states that he . . .

“teaches the unadulterated Word of God.”

For a so-called “prophet” who claims to have the answers for a “successful life,” Mr. Jordan doesn't even tell lost sinners who to become a Christian on his website. What kind of prophet wouldn't be a soul-winner? The world is dying and going to Hell in their sins without Jesus Christ  and Mr. Jordan is more interested in helping people have health, wealth and prosperity. Maybe you're supposed to buy the materials before you can find out how to go to Heaven? Or perhaps Mr. Jordan himself does not know how to go to Heaven himself. What're the case, any professed Gospel preacher who doesn't preach the Gospel is an imposter.

Like most other false prophets and ministers of our time, Bernard Jordan avoids the topics of repentance, salvation only by faith in Christ Jesus, sin, Hell, judgment and the wrath of God upon sinners to increase his marketing base. God deliver us from apostate, contemporary, pseudo-Christianity.

“A liberator in his own right, Bishop Jordan is charged with preparing the church for the New Millennium.”

Most of America's churches nowadays are apostate—no longer preaching against the sins of abortion, homosexuality, drunkenness, fornication, covetousness, divorce and feminism. Instead, many ministers today (like Joel Osteen) are preaching a half-sided false gospel of love, forgiveness and sinful compromise. There can be no love without the wrath of God. There can be no forgiveness without one's awareness of having violated God's holy Law. There can be no true harmony between God's children and Christ-rejecting, sin-loving, godless unbelievers.

2nd Corinthians 6:14-17 commands God's children to separate from unbelievers, to “COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM.” Bernard Jordan is known as a “prophet to the Stars” of Hollywood. Sure, because he doesn't actually teach “the unadulterated Word of God.” Jordan teaches a false doctrine which appeals to one's greed and self-centeredness. It's a joke that Jordan would even dare claim that God has called him to “prepare the church for the New Millennium.” Oh, boy!

By the way, Mr. Jordan's wife, Debra, is a self-professed “prophetess.” I mean no unkindness in my article toward either of them. It's just time for true Christians to pour their hearts into getting people saved. What good will all the money in the world matter 100 years from now? It seems that everyone has something to sell these days. We'll count me out, my ministry is a labor of love. I tell people, “I love you and there's nothing you can do about it.” That's unconditional love. God loves us, not because of who we are, but because of Who He is.

It is sad that the love of money has influenced so many people, men and women alike, to take advantage of Christianity for personal gain. It's just not right. Jesus deserves better than that. He paid our sin debt and set us free. The least we can do is use the Gospel the way it was intended to be used, to get lost sinners saved.
