Religion Is A Dead End

By David J. Stewart | February 16, 2021

Jude 1:3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Religion never took anybody to Heaven. Jesus said, “Ye must be born again” in John 3:7. Religion wants to fit us with glasses, but the Lord wants to open our eyes.

Religion can show you the door, but only Jesus Himself is the Door. John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” You may spend your entire life as a devotee of religion, and yet spend eternity suffering in the fires of Hell.

We read of such unfortunate ones in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

This is one of the most frightening passages in the Bible. These people were sincere, that is clear. They were dedicated to serving Jesus, that is clear. They were not bad people. Quite the contrary, they did “many wonderful works” the Bible says. Yet, Jesus didn't even know them. They were tares, not sheep. There are billions of religious people in the world who profess to be a Christian. There are an estimated 1,200,000,000 Roman Catholics, all who claim faith in Jesus. But they add keeping the Seven Sacraments. This is not faith alone in Christ. This is not wholly leaning upon Jesus' name.

Dear friend, religion cannot save you! Religion is a dead end. From the cradle to the casket Roman Catholicism has a religious package for you. But Jesus exclaimed in John 3:7, “Ye must be born again.”
