We Deserve Hell Today

By David J. Stewart

Luke 16:19-31

We live in a humanistic culture in America. McDonalds restaurant chain for decades appealed to the sinful and selfish nature of people (Jeremiah 17:5) by singing the commercial, “You deserve a break today, at McDonalds.” Could you imagine driving down the highway and hearing over the radio, “You deserve Hell today, at McDonalds”? Cars would be veering of the road.

Greedy companies exploit human psychology by luring customers with humanistic advertisements. We all deserve to go to Hell, go directly to Hell, do not pass go, do not collect $200 (that's what they say in the Board Game, MONOPOLY). You deserve Hell today, and so do I! No one is righteous in God's eyes (Romans 3:10,19,23).

Please listen to Pastor J. Vernon McGee's (1904-1988) sermon, Why The Gospel Is Not Preached Today (which is a powerful salvation message). Here's some quotes from the sermon...

Most people aren't bad enough to be saved!

God can't save you as long as you try to save yourself. You have to come as a sinner. The law has to make us speechless before God before grace can even begin with us (Romans 3:19).

My friend, God is only saving guilty sinners, those who have nothing to offer God! The human race today doesn't know how bad it is. The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it (Jeremiah 17:9). God only saves sinners (Romans 4:5).

Why The Gospel is Not Preached Today

That's why we all need the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ to have eternal life. We are saved by God's righteousness (Romans 10:3-4). Salvation is of the Lord, which Jonah thought about in the belly of the whale.

Burger King restaurant chain has advertised for decades, “Have it your way!” The Bible teaches the exact opposite“ Proverb 14:12, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” We should have it God's way (Proverb 3:5-7). Could you imagine driving down the highway and hearing a Burger King commercial singing, “Have it God's way, Have it God's way!” There'd be fender benders, crashes and people wouldn't know what to do. The ACLU would immediately file a lawsuit. The nuts and God-haters in the media would all start demonizing Christians for telling the truth.

If you pay attention to all the advertising shoved in our face these days, everywhere we go, you'll see that it is humanistic in nature. Greedy heathen corporations say... you deserve a vacation... be good to yourself... make an impression... et cetera. What you had better do is seek the Lord while He may be found. Isaiah 55:6, “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” The day you die or lose the capacity to think for yourself, it is over. If you reject Christ and then end up a vegetable in a coma for 20-years, you will go to Hell when you die, because you DIED IN YOUR SINS (having knowingly rejected Christ). The Bible teaches that the opportunity to get saved will not always be available. In fact, life is short (James 4:14). Only a total fool would put off salvation.

It is easy to be saved. Simply acknowledge your guilt of sin (Romans 3:19,23) and believe on the name of Jesus, the Christ (John 20:31). Salvation is found by faith in the precious name of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 6:23). Don't add any self-righteous works like water baptism and communion to your faith, or else it is no faith at all (Romans 11:6). Sacraments are a road to Hell if you trust in them to get to Heaven (Mark 7:6-13; Romans 10:3-4). Roman Catholics are on their way to Hell, because they foolishly trust in the Catholic Church to save them. Hail Mary! Hail Satan!

We all deserve to go to Hell (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15). Please don't listen to all the unbelieving, Christ-rejecting, idiots in this world who are “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2nd Timothy 3:7).
