People sometimes get upset with me for exposing entertainers, claiming that I am "judging" them.  However, there is a world of difference between "judging" someone, and EXPOSING them.  Ephesians 5:11 states, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (Greek, elencho, meaning 'to expose') them."  As Christians, we are expected by God to EXPOSE all "works" which are not of God, or that lead people away from God.

Carrie Marie Underwood has catapulted herself as an "American idol" (as clearly read on the magazine cover to the right).  When I first heard her hit single, Jesus Take The Wheel, I was immediately concerned what type of image she was portraying to millions of young people all across America and the world.  As expected, millions of carnal Christians have rallied around Underwood as some sort of spiritual hero.  I say "carnal" because Carrie Underwood is not the type of person which should be honored or recognized by Christians.  In my opinion, she is an imposter who is more interested in making money than in winning lost souls to Jesus Christ.  Her song about giving Jesus the wheel may seem noble, but is worthless without the personal Gospel witness to back it up.

I think the image of Underwood and "SELF magazine" is an appropriate description of her personal testimony.  Notice the words on the magazine she is promoting..."sexier"..."rich"..."American idol."  Is this conducive of a young lady who is serving the Lord?

Jesus Help Me Be a Lady!

For the sake of decency, I won't show any of Carrie Underwood's immodest photos here; BUT, there are plenty.  It is appalling for any professed "Christian" woman to dress immodestly like the world, wearing low-cut blouses, miniskirts, and other seductive clothing.  In one photo, Underwood is wearing a split frontal blouse where both of her breasts are partially exposed.  This is sinful.  Furthermore, some of the photo POSITIONS which Underwood has posed for are disgusting.  In one shot, she purposely puts forth her right arm while sitting to allow for a visible shot of her right breast hanging down.  Although she is clothed in the photo, it is clear what she is doing.  It's all part of the evil marketing methods used in the music industry...sex sells.  In other photos, Underwood is wearing worn-out and torn faded jeans.  Is this the dress of 1st Timothy 2:9, "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety..."  Carrie Underwood is attracting MILLIONS of young Christian girls to herself, and teaching them by her example that it's ok to dress immodestly, disobeying the Lord's command to PUT SOME CLOTHES ON.  Only a total heathen fool would contend that partially exposing a woman's breasts is acceptable.  It is sinful for any woman to dress immodestly, especially for a professed "Christian."

Where's the Gospel?

I searched Carrie Underwood's official website, but couldn't find any profession of her faith in Jesus Christ.  In her biography section, Underwood states that she grew up in church; BUT, this doesn't make her a Christian.  In fact, most people who go to church are religious; BUT, lost without Jesus Christ, and on their way to Hell to burn forever.  Why hasn't Underwood placed a Gospel presentation on her website?  I mean, she has millions of unsaved people visiting her website, and she doesn't even give a clue as to how to be saved.  Might offend some fans if you DEFINE your beliefs huh Carrie?  Nearly every false religion in the world believes in Jesus; BUT, they don't accept His deity.  I looked through several online forums featuring Carrie Underwood, and read all the PRAISES which her fans are giving her.  God wasn't being praised, she was!  One thing that I noticed in particular was all the unsaved Catholics who were claiming to be "Christians."  Carrie Underwood has a massive Roman Catholic following, and she will be held accountable to God for every one of her unsaved fans who goes to Hell if she doesn't present the GOSPEL to them.  Of course, that would be the end of her career because the world HATES Jesus Christ and His Word ... "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you" (John 15:19).  Something is very wrong with an entertainer who claims to be a "Christian," and is extremely popular with the false religions.  The world has a tolerance for Jesus, IF His deity is not mentioned and the Biblical FACT that Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven.

Why are the Catholics a false religion?  Because they ADD works to faith alone in Christ.  Catholics place their trust in the priest to forgive their sins, instead of Jesus Christ (1st Timothy 2:5).  Catholics ELEVATE Mary to the same status as Jesus...even recognizing her as a co-redeemer with Christ.  I do NOT hate Catholic people, but I do hate Catholicism because it teaches man's traditions instead of the Word of God.  Jesus clearly condemned doing this in Mark 7:6-13.  I realize that everyone has a "right" to believe whatever they want; BUT, what kind of Christian would I be if I sincerely believe that you are deceived, headed for the Lake of Fire, and I don't warn you?  I must warn you for conscience sake, and because God has commanded me to as a Christian (2nd Corinthians 5:11).  Guaranteed, Carrie Underwood won't tell you what I'm telling you ... the Catholic Church is a prisonhouse of religion!  People often ask, "Which religion is the right religion to follow, there are so many?"  The answer is simple--NONE of them!  Salvation is NOT found in a religion, but in a Person--The Lord Jesus Christ.  Acts 16:31 tells us how to be saved, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."  Now, any Catholic would agree with this, so it is our responsibility as believers to WARN them that ADDING anything (like the 7 sacraments) to faith alone is NO faith at all, but damnable heresy, and a guaranteed road to Hell.  We clearly read in Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..."  Again in Ephesians 2:8,9 we read, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  And this wonderful Scripture in Romans 4:3, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness."  And in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."  Clearly, good works are not acceptable to God for our salvation.  Why?  Because we are unable to redeem ourselves.  This is the whole reason why Jesus shed His blood upon the cross to pay for our sins.  The only way to be saved is to trust upon Jesus Christ, because of the blood which Jesus shed for us, and that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-4)?

Entertainment Christians

What really bothers me is when these professed "Christian" entertainers (like Amy Grant), who have influence over millions of people, claim that they are singers and not preachers.  What a cop out!  I know men of God, who've spent years earning their theological doctorates degrees, who are fortunate enough to have influence over a few hundred people.  Yet, these entertainers, who claim to be Christians, have influence over millions of people and refuse to give out the Truth of God's Word.  Any Jehovah's Witness believes in Jesus; BUT, they deny His deity and Godhead.  They are a false religion.  Any Mormon believes in Jesus; BUT, they deny His deity, and errantly believe that they will be as gods one day.  Singing about Jesus is not enough to win souls to Christ.  The Apostles NEVER sang the Gospel to anyone, they spoke it.  There is NO mention of singing on the Day of Pentecost, when at least 3,000 souls were saved.  I am simply saying folks that it's about time for all these people, who sing in Jesus' name, and get rich in Jesus' name, to start sharing the Gospel.

When someone like Carrie Underwood, who claims to be a Christian, who grew up in church, who sings about Jesus, and yet FAILS to put forth the Gospel of Jesus Christ--something is very wrong.   Please read my article, Religious Rock; NOT, Christian Rock.  Is it too much to ask, for professed "Christian" entertainers to present the simple plan of salvation on their websites?  Yes, because they would be REJECTED by the world.  Don't be fooled!  Any professed "Christian" entertainer that fails to present the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ is serving mammon (money), Not God.  The Gospel upsets most people if presented properly (1st Corinthians 1:18; Matthew 7:13,14).  The Word of God clearly states "...all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (2nd Timothy 3:12).  This is guaranteed!  Paul defines the Gospel as Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).  BUT, many false religions believe that.  The Biblical Gospel also teaches that Jesus Christ is the ONLY Way to Heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:12), apart from ALL works or human merit (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 4:5), and that we can only be saved by faith alone in Christ (Romans 11:6; Galatians 3:26).  This condemns and exposes 95% of professed "Christians" as actually being unsaved, because they have ADDED men's traditions and works to faith, which is no faith at all.  It is Jesus' blood that takes our sins away; NOT, religion or good works (Colossians 1:14; 1st John 1:7).  Hence, any professed "Christian" that sings about Jesus before millions of people; BUT, fails to give out the Biblical Gospel, is doing Christ a great disservice.

Carrie Underwood Needs to Give Jesus the Wheel

I did not write this article to be unkind, nor to personally attack Miss Underwood in any way.  I only wrote this article because when ANYONE claims to be a Christian, and is influencing millions of people Like Carrie Underwood, they must accept the great responsibility that goes alone with such fame.  Carrie Underwood has the POWER of influence over people, and I believe she is sending a horrible message to young people today.  I believe it is utterly hypocritical for Carrie Underwood to sing about "Jesus Taking The Wheel," while at the same time promoting "SELF magazine."  You can't have it both ways Miss Underwood!  Either you're going to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word, or else you're going to follow YOURSELF.  Self has no place in the Christian's life, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24).  The "cross" which Jesus spoke of is the PERSECUTION mentioned in John 15:19, "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."  The Apostle Paul stated in 2nd Timothy 3:12, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."  This is the cross which Jesus expects each of us to bare.  We should all speak the Truth of God's Word to lost sinners, and the Truth often makes people mad.

Again, I didn't write this article to be unkind to anyone; BUT, rather, to warn Christian young people against following professed "Christian" musical "idols" (artists)--who are sinfully proud, worldly, compromisers, wishy-washy, yoked with the world, choked by the cares and riches of this world, covetous, imprudent, immodest, shallow, backslidden, and fail to clearly present the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus should be getting all the money and praises; BUT, it's the artists who are getting all the praises and money.
